From Waste to Energy: How Urban Waste is Powering Our Cities

This process significantly reduces the volume of waste while also recovering energy from the waste material (European Commission, 2017). This state-of-the-art facility processes over 400,000 tons of waste annually, generating electricity for 550,000 residents and providing district heating for 140,000 households (Copenhill, 2020).

When I first saw coverage I thought, "what about the 2017" initiative, although granted it was before covid. is discussed by WTOP, " Metro’s future of bus service could bring new routes and end some familiar stops." And when thinking about writing about it, I remembered a bus initiative back in 2006 too.
