In 2009, I was appointed to serve on the Community Advisory Committee, representing the Eastern Market Preservation and Development Corporation. I suggested many things over the years including: -- creating a transportation management district for the Capitol Hill area, serving Eastern Market. We did this in 2008 or 2009.

Many years ago Leimert Park in Los Angeles was featured in the Washington Post as a black-business district (" Los Angeles's Black Pride: Taking In the Retro Vibe of Leimert Park ," places , 2006).
