When Google Public Sector was announced in June 2022, it was a sign of Google’s strong commitment in serving the needs of U.S. federal, state, and local governments, and education institutions. Since then, Google Public Sector has furthered its work to accelerate the digital transformation of U.S. public sector customers.

Entries more than doubled from the inaugural 2022 edition, with 334 nominations from 63 countries across six continents. Pahlka served in President Obama’s administration as the deputy chief technology officer from 2013-14, where she worked on initiatives to modernize government technology and improve digital services.
