She held yearly lemonade stands, and her story inspired others to do the same, and in the course of her life, she raised more than $1 million before she passed away in 2004. Her first lemonade stand raised $2,000. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from her commitment to finding cures for childhood cancer.
