That was in the mid 1970s, and now the trees are maybe 50 feet tall--this photo is from 2018, and the trees in question are behind the garage. I first heard this concept expressed by David Barth at a presentation in 2004. US Forest Service community involvement and educational publications. Some died and we nursed the others.
