Ironically, one of my early issues was overconcentration of liquor stores on H Street--I was even featured in a Post article about it in 2003. My overall take is that revitalization and commercial district success requires constant, ongoing management. That certainly seems like an overconcentration.

Since 2003, when I was on the board of H Street Main Street, and advocating that the group create a housing growth strategy in its retail trade area, I suggested that the RFK parking lots, especially along Benning Road, should be converted to housing and mixed use development. Because downtown D.C. has come back to life.
