Previously (Alexander 2013), I thought that Holling was wrong about resilience. Hence, public discourse and concerns could conceivably change overnight (as they did in the USA after "Nine-Eleven" in 2001). Some have even stated that the 2100-year-old concept of resilience was invented by Holling. What can we do instead? Holling, C.S

Shake Shack began as a small hot dog stand operating out of Madison Square Park in New York City in 2001 and grew into a gourmet fast-casual restaurant with more than 377 locations both domestically and internationally. Although maybe Marriott would be willing to license a revival of Hot Shoppes as a retro business venture.
