People Are Oblivious to Risks

Relocating to where there could be troubles.

My wife and I watch these beach vacation home television programs where people tour different houses and then pick one at the end.

Many times, those homes right on the beach are built up on stilts, yet no one ever comments on why that might be. Certainly is close to the water!!

Here is another example of that in progress. When you look at all building permits being issued you can tell where the hottest housing markets are and where people are moving.

The top four markets in sequence in the West include:

  • Utah
  • Idaho
  • Arizona
  • Nevada

What do three of these have in common? A looming water shortage. Maybe people are not paying attention to the news or they are going where the jobs are, but a water shortage is not just something that other people will need to deal with. It can very well impact individuals and families — that means you.
