CDT Accepting Applications for Project Management Leadership Academy

February 8, 2023 – The California Department of Technology (CDT) has opened applications for its Project Management Leadership Academy. PMLA is a training ground specially designed for public sector professionals who wish to develop and grow critical project management leadership skills.

PMLA blends formal training and a Project Management Experience component. In addition to formal classroom instruction, each student will be paired with a highly experienced project manager they will meet with weekly during the program to share lessons learned, provide advice and insight as it relates to project management, and job shadow meetings of interest. The academy has also been extended from eight weeks to ten weeks to decrease the number of classes per week and allow students more opportunities to take advantage of opportunities associated with their Project Management Experience.

The 10-week program runs from May 11 through July 20 and is open to public sector professionals. There are no job classification requirements to apply, and those who are newer to the field of project management are ideal candidates. However, due to the rigor associated with the program it is helpful to possess at least one year of direct or indirect project management experience.

Prospective participants are required to submit a signed CIO Authorization (or equivalent program executive) form as part of their package submission.

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on March 10.
