It is with deep gratitude and excitement that I write to you with big news about Grant Writing Made Easy and the evolution of my work.

After 7 years of running my comprehensive grant writing course, I have made the very heavy decision to officially close the course next year in December 2023. (Please no frantic emails yet! Read on.)

Grant Writing Course Enrollment Closing December 15

Enrollment for new members will close December 15, 2022.

Then we will continue to run the course until December 15, 2023.

So to restate, current members (and anyone who joins by Dec. 15, 2022) will have access for another full year.

  • If you’re on the lifetime membership plan, you’ll have access until Dec. 15, 2023.
  • If you’re on the annual membership plan, you’ll have access until Dec. 15, 2023.
  • If you’re on the monthly membership plan, you’ll have access as long as you continue your monthly payment, up until Dec. 15, 2023.
  • If you’re a Grant Writing Boss Club member, you will continue to have access through the end of your year of access, whenever that ends for your cohort. (You get one year of GWME access starting on the date you joined Boss Club.)

Then on December 15, 2023, we will sunset the evergreen grant writing course content, twice-monthly grant writing workshops, FB group, and grant peer review program.

But until the course closes at the end of 2023, we are going to continue operating as usual, giving the workshops and our member relations our all.

Please know that our business isn’t going anywhere after that!

We will continue to run our next cohort of Grant Writing Boss Club, our smaller course offerings, and do our 1-on-1 grant writing consulting.

It’s simply that I have slowly and agonizingly realized that Grant Writing Made Easy has run its course.

Why We’re Closing the Course

As you can imagine a lot of factors have influenced this decision.

Over the last year or so, the cost of running and marketing the course has gotten more expensive than the price of the course can support.

We’ve tried changing the pricing, improving the course content, and spending tens of thousands on external marketing and advertising support. We’re just at a point where it is no longer financially sustainable to continue the course.

At many points over the last year and a half I have dreaded this moment, felt shame around it, and tried to avoid it at all costs.

However, I’m finally at peace with it because I’ve admitted to myself that I have something even bigger that I need to do, something that I love and feel is even more necessary for me to do than this work.

And, in time, I have realized that I have created so much more than just this course.

My biggest takeaway from Grant Writing Made Easy will always be the community I have gained.

Working with y’all in the live writing workshops and 1-on-1 coaching has always been my favorite part of this work.

It’s not so much the grant writing, or writing in general, that revs me up.

It’s y’all.

I Still Love Teaching and Creating Community

So I won’t be leaving you or abandoning this community.

In closing GWME, I’m giving myself and my business space and time to:

And hopefully this will give you plenty of opportunity and incentive to take advantage of all the resources Grant Writing Made Easy has to offer over the next year.

Please know that we tried everything and used every resource available to keep GWME going as long as we have.

I’m proud that we ran this course continuously for 7.5 years (8.5 by the time it’s closed) and I’ll be forever grateful that each of you have helped me do that.

If you’ve been following me for years and waiting to take Grant Writing Made Easy with me, this is truly the last time you’ll ever be able to do that. I hope to see you join the course by December 15, 2022.

If you’re already a member of GWME or decided to go a different way for your current grant writing needs, I do still hope you’ll stay on our list. I think you’ll love what’s coming in 2023.

Thank you for being a part of this community.
