Greensboro Police Department Releases Blockwise Survey Results

In a recent press release the City of Greensboro Police Department announced the key findings of the first round of results from their Blockwise survey. The survey measures public opinion on police services, such as trust and safety, in Greensboro.

Running over a two-month period from October-December 2022, the survey included questions about how residents feel about police services and operations, public safety concerns, and how the police department can improve. The survey was translated into eight languages.

“We would not be asking if we did not want to hear from you,” remarked Police Chief John Thompson in an interview with WFMY News 2. He continued, “what’s really unique about this is that we solicit information and feedback as to what their concern is in their specific neighborhood. That will allow me to utilize my resources better in the organization. Being able to understand what specific problems are going on in specific areas, then we can tailor our response to that neighborhood.” Watch Chief Thompson’s full interview here.

The City of Greensboro shared a sampling of the results on their public portal, available here. The full report findings are also available to download on their website.
