Mary Oliver’s “The Summer Day,” ends with the question, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your wild and precious life?” The library wants to empower you to find the answer with our new community resource guide, EngagePrinceton.org.
The website features three main sections: About Us, Event and Community Resources.
The Community Resources guide is intended to:
Inform: Help members of our community (and beyond) to learn about and identify the different municipal boards/commissions and non-profits in Princeton. The site is searchable. If someone is interested in the environment, for example, they can filter by ‘environment’ and see organizations that are working in this area.
Empower: For those looking to become engaged in their community, an additional filter option indicates whether an organization is looking for volunteers.
Clarify and Connect: At the bottom of each organization’s listing, there is a section for Similar Organizations. The idea here is to help community members understand what each of these organizations do, and to connect them to similar organizations that may be mission-aligned but have a different focus or responsibilities.
The website is currently in development and will be consistently updated with new Princeton organizations to keep it useful to both community members and the boards, commissions and non-profits that make this town extraordinary.
