EU government employees can build cloud skills with new, no-cost AWS learning plans
Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch of new AWS learning plans for civil servants at this week’s AWS Public Sector Symposium in Brussels. The learning plans are designed specifically for European Union (EU) government agencies and are part of AWS’s ongoing commitment to public sector customers. These tailored learning plans will help EU government employees build cloud skills and accelerate their agencies’ digital transformations.
The new, no-cost AWS learning plans for EU government include role-based training focused on cloud fundamentals, security, architecture, machine learning (ML), and other key topics. They feature a mix of digital courses, hands-on labs, and self-paced content optimized for government learners.
“We are excited to offer these specialized AWS learning opportunities to our public sector customers in the EU,” said Dave Levy, vice president of Worldwide Public Sector at AWS. “These learning plans will empower government agencies to skill up their teams quickly and effectively, so they can unlock the full potential of the cloud.”
The announcement comes as EU institutions increasingly embrace cloud technologies to enhance delivery of public services. AWS has seen strong adoption of its cloud solutions by EU government customers seeking security, scalability, and innovation. This announcement also follows last October’s news about AWS launching a European Sovereign Cloud dedicated to host workloads with the most stringent European security and regulatory requirements.
AWS will deliver the new EU government learning plans through AWS Training and Certification, and the plans will be available via the AWS Skill Builder digital learning center and through AWS Public Sector Partners who work closely with government agencies.
AWS has already trained more than 1.2 million people across the European Union on cloud skills since 2017. This figure includes free and paid training. We will continue to offer European learners the opportunity to accelerate their careers with new free AI skills training and education offerings through Amazon’s AI Ready initiative.
According to a recent report by Strand Partners, AI could contribute an additional €600 billion in gross value added (GVA) to the European economy by 2030 if current rates of adoption are maintained. At the same time, the report reveals the gap between the ambitions for digital technologies set by Europe’s Digital Decade policy programme versus the realities of digital skills, supporting infrastructure, consumer confidence, and cybersecurity.
